The DFW metroplex is made up of more than 200 cities, and Grapevine will quickly become one of your favorites! Located smack dab in the middle of the metroplex, it’s just about 20 minutes from Dallas and Fort Worth. The activities are endless, the restaurants will make your mouth water and the shopping is top-notch!
Seasonally perfect!
No matter the season or the weather, you can always find something to do in Grapevine! Year-round you can check out the Vintage Railroad and Nash Farm, an interactive step into the past that will teach you how agriculture shaped the area and is a local favorite. Stay cool during the summer at the indoor water park at Great Wolf Lodge or Paradise Springs outdoor park across the street at the Gaylord Texan. There are miles of concrete and natural trails at Grapevine Lake for biking, running or walking. While you are there, check out the stand-up paddle boarding or glow-in-the-dark kayaking for a cool night time experience. Too hot out for you? Grapevine Mills is not a shopping mall, it’s a destination with something for everyone: over 175 stores, SeaLife Aquarium, Legoland Discovery Center, AMC movie theater, Peppa Pig World of Play, Round1 Bowling and Entertainment, The Escape Game, and so much more! And the newest and most unique experience, Meow Wolf. This immersive and mind-blowing adventure is pretty indescribable, and all we can say is you definitely have to see it for yourself! Grapevine is always a great place, but Christmas time is the time it shines the brightest, since it is lovingly known as the Christmas Capital of Texas. Celebrate the holiday season with millions of Christmas lights, a kick-off Christmas Parade, the Polar Express (tickets are already on sale for this event running November 24-December 23), ICE! @ the Gaylord, an outdoor ice-skating rink in front of Harvest Hall, and hundreds of other events. What would Grapevine be without a classic main street? Featuring walking ghost tours, the gorgeous Hotel Vin, retro movies at the Palace Theater, tons of boutiques, art galleries (fine art fan? check out Giddens Gallery of Fine Art; like your art a little funkier and modern? check out the new RTown Gallery), Talking Animals independent bookstore, bars and restaurants, it makes the perfect weekend getaway destination. Feel like dancing the night away? Chill and the Glass Cactus will be the places to go! Grapevine hosts 2 more festivals every year that feature vendors from across the country, carnival rides and food, multiple music stages and yummy drink experiences: in May, Main Street Days focuses on craft beer, and in September, Grapefest highlights (you guessed it!) WINE!
Mouth-watering eats and satisfying sips!
Grapevine loves their wine and for good reason! The actual wineries may be located across our great state, but thanks to Grapevine, you can check them all out on our Urban Wine Trail: Bingham Family Vineyards, Bull Lion, Cross Timbers, Grape Vine Springs, Landon, Messina Hof, and Sloan & Williams Wineries.
There is definitely no shortage of restaurants, diners, and bars around town. Main Street offers a great selection. Piaf serves great mediterranean fare and has an awesome 2nd floor patio overlooking the north end of Main Street. Grab a bowl of award-winning chili at Tolbert’s (and they have live music 6 nights a week!) The pastries and coffee at Main Street bakery are definitely worth the stop. Fresh-made ice cream and chocolate treats at Kilwin’s will satisfy that sweet treat, and you even get to watch them make the treats! Mason & Dixie is a charming and rustic fave that serves southern-style plates like pimento cheese sandwiches, shrimp and grits, pot roast and so much more. Just beyond Main Street, Los Amigos and Esparza’s (the fried avocado is a MUST!) are 2 of our favorite tex-mex spots. The infamous Bob’s Steak and Chophouse has a wonderful location in Grapevine that is perfect for date night or, if you’re in town for business, the perfect place to take clients. Breakfast doesn’t get better than Old West Cafe. It’s popular, so be sure and get there early to avoid the wait!
