Things To Do In Dallas!
The best places to visit are usually the ones that the locals love, and in this case, some of the faves restaurants close to White Rock Lake include: El Vecino for Tex-Mex, grab a delicious burger and cold beer at Goodfriend and the chill vibe at The Lounge Here is great for a girls’ brunch or date night. Speaking of girl time: XOXO is the best place for any girls event, the over-the-top pink and uber-feminine decor is the perfect setting for photo opps and definitely order the cupcake ferris wheel dessert for the table! Jimmy’s Food Store is famous in the area for your authentic Italian necessities to take home and create your own 5-star meal. Mexican Sugar has unique cocktails and plates, and have 3 locations across Dallas! Any fans of Top Chef? You won’t want to miss out on Chef Tiffany Derry’s Roots Southern Table. The cast iron cornbread is the perfect starter to the duck-fat fried chicken served family-style. If you’re looking for a posh night out, Monarch is the way to go with handmade pastas, fresh seafood and a sexy atmosphere. Crown Block is the new restaurant located in Reunion Tower that gives you one of the best views of the city and serves an incredibly sophisticated experience. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Fuel City is one of the most impressive taco spots around! Our personal picks in Dallas: the brisket and mac n’ cheese at Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum, the basil fried rice at Mint and the Kung Pao at Stirr in Deep Ellum. And a super fun way to explore different restaurants and bars is Margarita Mile, a free self-guided tour of the best margaritas around! Inside, outside and all around!
Dallas is an incredible city if you are a sports fan- the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars play in the American Airlines Center in downtown, the Dallas Cowboys are right down the road in Arlington, along with the Rangers. The amount of world-class entertainment that passes through Dallas is almost unbelievable, and with concert venues like American Airlines, Dos XX Pavilion, Toyota Music Factory, House of Blues, Granada Theater and Winspear Opera House, you’ll find something everyone will enjoy. Downtown is home to tons of great museums and fun (and educational) places: The Perot is interactive and fun no matter how old you are, the Aquarium is one of the best in the world and you definitely will want to check out the Dallas Museum of Art. Outdoor activities are everywhere around town: Klyde Warren park actually spans over a busy highway and always has a great food truck selection, the Arboretum & Botanical Gardens are stunning and kayaking on White Rock Lake is a favorite local activity.
