Coco Shrimp serves Hawaiian-style shrimp plates, Coco shrimp tacos and a fun atmosphere with locations all over the city. Looking for classic breakfast dishes and the best pancakes around? Ol’ South Pancake House is perfect. You can’t come to Fort Worth without having BBQ, so definitely try out Heim’s BBQ in South FW. Joe T. Garcia’s and Reata are both unique staples around town. Great vegetarian and vegan options are available, you’ll definitely want to check out Spiral Diner and Mariachi’s.

The Trinity Trails are more than 100-miles of walking, biking and hiking trails around Fort Worth and along the Trinity River, wandering through 31 neighborhoods and 21 parks. You can even jump in a kayak and ride down the river! The authentic cowboy experience waits for you in the Stockyards– Cattle Drives 2 times a day, horseback riding, shopping for your new boots and hat, even rodeos every Friday and Saturday night at the Cowtown Coliseum. The ultimate honkey-tonk, Billy Bob’s Texas, isn’t in the Stockyards, but it’s not far and definitely worth checking out for line-dancing classes throughout the week and great concerts every weekend. The cowboy life not for you? Scat’s Jazz lounge is a local favorite. Dance the night away to your favorite 80’s hits at Studio Eighty. Or you can laugh the night away at Four Day Weekend Comedy Club or catch the latest theater production at Bass Performance Hall. The fine arts are a huge part of the Fort Worth lifestyle. The Kimball showcases hundreds of pieces, ranging from pottery attributed to civilizations thousands of years before Christ, to pieces by Warhol and more. The Modern Art Museum is a gorgeous collection of sculptures, paintings, photography and installations that will wow even the youngest art fan.
Awesome School Programs!
Fort Worth supports almost 200 schools and nearly 75,000 students. According to the Fort Worth School District website, unique programs include: FWISD now offers Gold Seal P-TECH (Pathways in Technology) Academies at eight schools. P-TECHs provide opportunities for students to earn a high school diploma, industry-recognized certifications, and an associate degree, all while getting relevant work experience in a high-demand job field, and making connections with industry partners. Fort Worth ISD’s new mobile STEM lab is pulling up to elementary and middle schools with gadgets and games to excite every child. The hands-on activities include robotics, 3D electronics, and more. It’s an interactive introduction to the wonders of science, technology, engineering and math. It’s also an introduction to Gold Seal Programs and Schools of Choice with a STEM focus and possible future careers. Gold Seal choice:T-STEMs (Texas Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Two T-STEM programs will provide foundational principles and standards for innovative partnerships with colleges, universities, and industries.
More than 40 companies and organizations have officially pledged to participate in preparing Fort Worth ISD students for college and career success. New Gold Seal partners include American Airlines, Facebook, and UNT Health Science Center at Fort Worth.
